Social Media for government communicators
Social media has become a staple in communication and government communication is no different. Whether you are communicating with small communities, speaking on behalf of the police or informing members of the public about major government policy, social media is a major element of any communications plan.
Over 60 government communicators gathered on 19 November, 2019 to learn new techniques in social media management. The focus of the course was how to best use different types of social media to reach people, including talking to them in their own languages and using graphics as a way to simplify content.
The session was engaging, with participants who were considered advanced users, breaking into small groups to formulate social media strategies which can be used once the course is complete.
